On Dec. 17, the Suncoast Woodcrafters Guild (SWG) presented the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society (SCCSS) with more than 100 handcrafted toys and gifts that its membership have been building over the past year.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Patrick George Wheelihan, born June 10, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington, USA.

'A gentle man of deep integrity and dedication, Rick was known for his ethical nature, warmth, and genuine kindness. He lived his life with purpose, touching the lives of those around him through his compassion, honesty, and steadfast commitment to doing what was right.'

'It is hard to capture the essence of Alf: he was an adventurer, a connoisseur, a mountaineer, a traveler, a voracious reader, a dedicated gardener, and an amazing husband, father and granddad. He was a gifted raconteur.'

Last weekend had 24 dart players playing off in Zone 4 (Sunshine Coast Legions) competing to move onto playoff in the provincials to be held in Cranbrook, March 14 to 16.
