The 2017 BC Aboriginal Provincial Archery Camp is set for March 11 and 12 in Oliver.
Held at an indoor range facility, this development camp is an opportunity for First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth ages 10 to 18 to experience the sport of archery in a safe and controlled environment with quality instructors.
A sport relying upon accuracy and precision, archery is featured in the North American Indigenous Games, Canada Winter Games, and the Olympic Games. This is a rare opportunity to gain experience and exposure to this target sport and develop new skills. Due to the support of the province of B.C., the fee to participate in the camp is just $30 and includes lunch on both days.
All levels of ability are welcome. Beginners and experienced archers will be grouped accordingly. No equipment or experience is necessary, but those with their own equipment are asked to bring it.
Athletes must register before Friday, March 3 and submit camp registration fee before March 8 to secure a spot. Spots are limited so register early to avoid disappointment.
The camp is hosted in partnership with the Osoyoos Indian Band and BC Archery Association.
