Santa hats, elf costumes and more tackled the streets of Sechelt this past Sunday in the annual Holiday Hustle five and two kilometre road race. After a five-year hiatus, the Hustle was back in a big way with 75 registrants and a new course record! Since the first race in 2012, all proceeds from the Hustle have gone to the Chatelech Secondary School track and field team.
As Chatelech track and field coach Larry Nightingale says, “This team welcomes everyone, and we don’t want money to stop anyone from coming out for a run.”
First place went to former Chatelech track and field team member Jordan Wilson in 15:57, followed by Jeremy Rolle from Chilliwack in 17:35, and Ryder Seabrook, in 18:20.
The women’s race was won by Carol-Ann Rolle 19:09 followed by Betsie De Beer in 25:30 and Nadine Slingerland in 28:17.
