Pender Harbour

The Legion’s Sunday Dance Party Sept. 8 welcomes the return of the fabulous Spindrift Street, 2 to 5 p.m. Come dine and dance! $10 at the door.

Madeira Park Veterinary Hospital invites you to attend ‘Scan the Chip Day’ Wednesday, Sept. 11, with any pet in your household to have them scanned for a microchip. New rules to enter the US require a microchip and proof of valid rabies vaccine are required. If a microchip is not found in your pet, the hospital will be happy to set up an appointment to have one implanted. This will comply with the new American CDC rules to ensure your travels with your pet go smoothly.

The Pender Harbour Wildlife Society is pleased to host guest speaker, community advisor for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) Salmonid Enhancement Program Sunshine Coast. Jim has been on the Sunshine Coast since 1994, collaborated with government, industry and First Nations on salmon assessment, monitoring and habitat restoration. His presentation on the Salmonid Enhancement Program will include how the program has changed and community involvement initiatives. All are welcome to attend at the Pender Harbour Secondary School in the Food Room. The event is Sept. 17, doors open at 6:45 p.m., presentation at 7 p.m. There will be refreshments and a raffle.
