The family of Tara Lenore MacLeod are so saddened to announce she has lost her years long struggle with medical issues that saw her in and out of hospital many times this year. Tara passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family early on the morning of November 25, 2023 at the age of only 50.
Tara was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on October 5 1973. Tara moved to Sechelt with her Mom and Dad at the young age of two and graduated from Chatelech High School with honours and art awards. Tara went on to become a prima highland dancer as well as an instructor at the Coast Academy of Dance. She also worked on many of the stage performances making costumes and organizing. Tara was also a gifted Celtic artist. Most recently Tara was enjoying success at her job as senior insurance advisor and Assistant Branch Manager at Westland Insurance.
Tara leaves behind her loving parents Florence Robertson (Butch)and Donald MacLeod, her brother Colin (Sabina) and sister Erin, her children Lauren MacLeod, Bee Light and Donovan Light, and her partner Dean Forbes. Tara also had two grandchildren, Emily and Jake Richardson and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as countless friends.
Tara will be forever loved and remembered.
A celebration of life will be held at the Seaside Center in Sechelt on January 21, 2024.
