It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Van Kleek after a fall at her home.
Mom was born on a small farm in Butte, Alberta in the middle of a blizzard, and was delivered by her father. She had many fond memories of growing up on the farm surrounded by her loving family and community. Her marriage to Don Van Kleek, led to a life living in many areas of Alberta and BC, including a five year stint in Lahr, West Germany. Finally settling on the Sunshine Coast in 1981, Mom and Dad made their home in Roberts Creek, and later Gibsons.
Mom is survived by son Mark (Aneta), daughter Lorinda, grandchildren David (Alexa), Damian (Jessica), Elizabeth (Joe), Kai and her special friend Judy Fitzgerald. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Marie Stainbrook, brothers Howard and Wilbur, and husband Don.
