Have any items tucked away that are collectable, unusual, historical or antique? Want to know more about them, including what they're worth? If so, then bring them down to the 10th annual Antiques Roadshow and Heritage Fair on Saturday, Feb. 19.
This major fundraising event for the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives takes place at Sunnycrest Mall from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fascinating and valuable items have been "discovered" in the past. Will your item be the next big discovery?
Qualified appraisers generously donate their time and expertise to appraise a variety of items including paintings, stamps and coins, silver, jewellery, rare books, collectibles, china, military items and much more. Appraisals will be limited to a maximum of three items per person so that as many participants as possible can be seen. Admission is free; an appraisal will cost $10 for one item, $15 for two items and $20 for three items.
There will be heritage displays by the museum as well as by the Sechelt Archives and the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society. There will also be a selection of items from the museum gift shop for sale, seedling creativity kits for kids, boat crafts, books, vintage postcards and more.
