It's haunting season! Here's what's happening on the Coast.

Witches of Sechelt

The Witches of Sechelt will be dancing around town Oct. 26, with their black cauldrons, collecting donations for Sechelt Hospice.

Try to catch them at one of these locations: Sechelt Library, 11:30 a.m., Trail Bay Mall, noon, Waterfront Patio in front of the Watermark, 12:30 p.m., Sechelt Farmers Market by Rockwood, 1 p.m., and Brickers Cidery at 1:45 p.m.

Scary-oke

Start planning your costume — and song choices— for the Scary-oke Party at the Sechelt Legion, 5546 Inlet Ave., Oct. 31 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Enjoy drink specials, a costume contest, prizes and delicious food from the kitchen, which is open until 8 p.m. Admission is free.

Gibsons Legion Halloween Bash

It’s double trouble at the Gibsons Legion, Oct. 26, with the Sofa Kings performing in the lounge and the Matlen Starsley Band rocking out on the Hall side. The Matlen Starsley Band features former and current members of the Bryan Adams Band, the Ray Roper Project, Touchdown, Straight Shooter and Fandango.

Wear a costume and get ready to party from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 to $25.

The Hook at Batch 44 Brewery

Alright party people, get your costumes on and head to Batch 44, Saturday Oct. 26 for a night of scary fun. And, while you’re there, dance your heads off to The Hook (we mean that metaphorically, of course) from 8 p.m. to late. Prizes will be awarded for best costume.

Day of the Dead

The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives is not organizing its annual Halloween Block Party at the Museum this year, but instead, a Day of the Dead celebration is taking place Oct. 30 at Sunnycrest Mall to benefit Sunshine Coast Community Services.

A mask workshop takes place from 3 to 5 p.m., and the Skeleton/Zombie Walk/Dance with Pacesetter starts at the Gibsons Community Centre to Sunnycrest Mall starts at 4:45 p.m. Even more festivities kick off at 5:15 p.m. with live performances, a costume contest, piñata and more, with special appearances by the Driftwood Players, Gibsons Dance Centre, Ghost Hula, Bones, and Flowers & Flamenco with Gerardo Avila & La Zarmari.

This event supports the 50 Women for SCCSS fundraising campaign for the Building Together Project.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

OK, Sechelt, it’s time to brush up on your Time Warp dance moves, because Raven’s Cry Theatre is bringing the Rocky Horror Picture Show to the big screen, Oct. 26.

Everyone is encouraged to show up in costume and dance instructions will be given prior to the start of the film. Party bags with props are available to purchase and a pre-show party starts at 6:30 p.m.

The show is open to adults 19 and older.

Shady Hazel Farm Pumkin Patch

Shady Hazel is a 16-acre farm in Gibsons, specializing in heritage breed lamb and Kune Kune pigs. Come October, the farm runs a U-pick pumpkin patch every Saturday and Sunday, so family and friends can gather for a hot apple cider, mini donuts, piglet petting and more.

Half of the proceeds from pumpkin sales go towards the Sunshine Coast Food Bank. Please note, to protect the safety of their farm animals, dogs are not allowed.

Spooktacular Halloween Party

Note: Depending on ticket sales, this even may or may not take place.

A burger and beverage fundraiser for St. Bart's Food Bank will (hopefully) take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at High Beam Dreams, 350 Glassford Rd. in Gibsons, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

This family-friendly event includes live music by Spindrift Street and prizes for the best costumes will be awarded. A 50/50 draw will raise more money for St. Bart's.

Non-refundable tickets for adults are $35, $15 for children ages four to 12, and include a burger and a beverage.
