Kisses and Kicks: Kicks to gate lurking weirdo, kisses astronomy club

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of March 22!

  • A boat load of kisses to Jennifer, BC Ferries Langdale, for her kindness, compassion, and professionalism in locating and returning my luggage that was a result of my own error. Thank you so much.
  • Kisses to Sunshine Coast Astronomy Club (a centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada) members for hosting a welcoming and informative night for the public at the observatory!
  • Kicks to the weirdo lurking at my gate recently, shedding vodka bottles and carting away the beach boulders I loved enough to display. Please find more socially acceptable ways to get your rocks off and leave mine in peace.
  • Kisses to Dad Brent who treated me to a bag of Izzy’s cotton candy in Davis Bay. It made a young person very happy to receive, your generosity touched a few of us.
  • Kisses to the person who found my keys on Bailie and dropped them in the mailbox.
  • Grateful kisses and happy retirement wishes to Barber Dave! My Dad, Ray Lipp, was a resident at Totem Lodge for more than five years. He always looked forward to having his hair cut from his favourite barber, “Barber Dave.” You made his day. Thank you!
  • Huge kisses to Salish Soils and Bonniebrook Industries for donation bins and their time to do a spring clean-up at Poplars Estate Mobile Park. Thank you to all the residents who participated to make our community a nicer place to live and to everyone who stepped up helping each other chuck things in the bins.
  • Kisses to the SCRD garbage collectors who took the straps off my bins when I forgot to take them off! And left them neatly on top of my bin. Your service to the community is appreciated!
  • Kisses to BC Ferries for the habanero burger.
  • Kisses to the Gibsons Public Art Gallery for sharing the delightful artwork of the Coast’s youth – such a great way to encourage young talent!
  • Kisses to the folks putting in long hours – for free – to clean our environment and leave it better for future generations.
  • Kisses to the people trying to organize community events. We need to gather together now more than ever, and your work does not go unnoticed.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
