A few days ago, our son John invited us to go on a hike on a user-friendly (e.g. wheelchairs), age appropriate, well-maintained trail. He took us to a relatively unknown gem of a park on the Sunshine Coast via Sechelt Inlet Road on the east side of Porpoise Bay toward Tuwanek. The park is called Hidden Grove and has several trails, some easy to hike, others somewhat more challenging. The park has maps, coloured markers and explanatory plaques and is in a lush west coast forest.
We hiked an easy trail and found the grove abundant with a variety of old-growth trees and foliage that collectively exuded a captivating and majestic grandeur. The grove was to us a treasure and a little bit of Heaven here on the Sunshine Coast.
In thanking John for the exhilarating experience, he texted “It’s so valuable to be out in nature. It’s restorative for the soul.” Amen.
