Letters: Is the feast for peace appropriate?

Editor:

I was struck by Mr. Greenberg’s idea of having a Feast for Peace. It’s a wonderful idea but I wonder if it’s appropriate as Israel continues to starve the two million people of Gaza after bombing their enclave (the size of the Sunshine Coast) into an obscene rubble covering the bodies of uncounted thousands of men and women and children who had been living in an open-aired prison the last 10 years prior to their murder.

The Sunshine Coast Peace Committee has been demonstrating against the genocide in Gaza for just over a year.

Mr Greenberg exaggerates the negative energy our Stop Bombing Children signs elicit, (maybe two a week) and ignores the honks and peace signs and ,yes, kisses (maybe 60 a week) the passersby offer in their stead.

I agree with Mr. Greenberg that we have absolutely no say in foreign policy (why is that?)  but we can express an alternate narrative to the only one allowed in corporate media and, I assure you, it is a delight doing so.
