Two weekends ago, the U18A Blues hockey team travelled to Enderby to participate in the North Okanagan Knights tournament. With their first game against Clearwater, the team started strong with a 5 – 2 win. The following two round-robin games were low-scoring ties, with scores of 0-0 against Golden and then 2 – 2 against Winfield. With an early start the following day, the team faced the first team in the opposite pool, Kitimat. Off to a slow start, the Blues gained momentum and scored twice in the third period to beat Kitimat 2-0 and head to the gold medal game.

Heading into the gold medal game and down a few players, the team had a very exciting and close game with the home team, the North Okanagan Knights. Up 3-1 in the third period, the Blues battled hard against the home team, who came back to make it 3-2. With many chances at the end of the game to tie it up, the Blues held onto the lead and brought home the gold medal.
