In an exciting display of skill and determination, the U13 team triumphed in all four games of the 3rd Annual Female Remembrance Day Tournament in Chilliwack, ultimately clinching gold in a hard-fought 2-1 final against the hometown team.
Coach Matty Devenish expressed his pride at the team’s tenacity and unity throughout the extended weekend. Every player contributed to the pursuit of the gold medal, highlighting their ability to pass and play as a team. Both on and off the ice, the camaraderie within this exceptional group resulted in a weekend filled with great fun.
A notable aspect of the tournament was the special skills showcase, featuring four standout players from the Sunshine Coast representing the Blues: Hannah Reeve, Bella Stapleton, Summer Pringle, and Kaysie Crosby. Their teammates rallied behind them to cheer them on from the stands. Among the accolades, Bella Stapleton secured the goalie streak save, Kaysie Crosby claimed the title of fastest skater, and Summer Pringle was recognized for the most accurate shot.
