Last month, three people from the Sunshine Coast attended the World Karate and Kickboxing Union World Championships hosted in Calgary.
All three participants had to qualify back in May to win their spot to represent Canada at this world competition.
Amir Taydon Pour of Gibsons competed in men’s + 90kgs K1 kickboxing and took home gold!
Keanu Kaessler of Pender Harbour competed in in teens kick light and took home bronze in teens continuous kickboxing and took home silver in adult men’s full contact he took home bronze.
Ryan Daley of Halfmoon Bay competed in adult men’s -90kg K1 kickboxing and -90kg full contact kickboxing and took home gold in both categories.
All three fighters train out of Roots MMA in Sechelt and Gibsons MMA in Port Moody.
