The U15A and U13A Sunshine Coast Blues teams brought home gold medals this past Thanksgiving weekend.
U15A attended the 25th Annual Larry Orr Memorial Tournamnent in Victoria. The team won all five games played, outscoring opponents 28 to 5, with goalie Jackson Stubley recording two shutouts. It was a genuine team effort with a balanced scoring attack and an excellent opportunity for the team to play teams they don’t usually play.
U13A was at the West Kelowna U13 Fire Storm Tournament. The team had two wins and a loss after the round-robin, and after a close semi-final game, they were on their way to the gold medal game vs Cranbrook. The game was close, but Cranbrook pulled ahead in the third period. In the last five minutes, Noah Murawsky scored two goals to tie up the game and send it to overtime, where he scored the game winner.
