The SCYSA U17 Eagles return with strong team play and winning results.
On Oct. 13 the boys dominated the Windsor School pitch over North Vancouver FC Fury. Brayden Zayshley started off the scoring receiving a beautiful cross from Derek Ewen. The second goal was earned in the second half by Bryan Rono’s fast-paced moves. The team was working hard together with notable performances from winger Tai Loverock and defenceman Derek Ewan, who both battled relentlessly on the turf. Defenceman Riely O’Sullivan was also noticed for speed and skill inserting himself between opponents and the ball.
Oct. 20 the Eagles experienced a home town win at Cliff Gilker Park over opponents Cliff Avenue United Football Vipers. All members of the team played exceptionally well, dominating the play and supporting a 3-1 win. Goals were scored by centre- mid Kordell Johnson in both halves of the game. Striker Bryan Rono also scored in the first half. Bryan then moved to support defense in the second half, marking the opposing top striker.
The team’s strong goalie, Jake MacLean, repeatedly showed good judgment, awareness and skill in all the Eagles’ games.
