Life could not be much better for Coaster Michelle Miller (nee MacDonald).
Miller was crowned Miss Las Vegas, winning the overall title at a figure body building competition in Las Vegas on Nov. 1.
This was her first U.S. show since she moved to Las Vegas to live with her new husband Jared, who she introduced to bodybuilding and her son Kyler.
Readers will recall that we first introduced you to Miller in 2011 when she won her first competition in Kelowna.
It has come full circle now as she has won her first competition in the U.S.
“I think that’s kind of cool. The first competition I entered in Canada I won, and now the same here in the U.S.,” she said. “I’m so proud of the training, my preparation, my diet. All the hard work has paid off. My son is so proud, and Jared has been pushing me, and really we have been pushing each other to just become better.
“Jared is killing it, too. I think I’ve created a monster in the gym. He’s won a whole bunch of competitions this year, so yeah, I don’t think life could be any better right now!”
Since she has not received her U.S. citizenship yet, she is only eligible to compete in so many shows as a Canadian citizen.
“Jared and I are heading to Miami this week for another major show. Jared will compete, but I can’t, which is too bad, because I’m certainly prepped for it,” Miller said. “It’s just working hard and staying prepared and once all the paper work is in order and I get the U.S. citizenship, then I can compete in any show I want.”
While she is waiting for that, other fitness doors are opening up.
The couple has recently signed a major sponsorship deal with No Limit Muscle, an innovative workout apparel line, and will be working with the company when they host and sponsor a major show next year in Vancouver.
“The sky is the limit,” Miller said. “I just love living here in Las Vegas, working hard, training — loving life. I want to thank everyone back on the Sunshine Coast for all their love and support, their emails, phone calls, Facebook posts. It really means a lot knowing that so many people are supporting me.”
