Gibsons might be suffering from the abundance of snow this season, but Dakota Ridge is thriving, often with more than 200 visitors per day.

There are currently two metres of snow at the parking lot and three metres higher up, according to Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) parks and planning coordinator Sam Adams.

“The staff, volunteers and road contractor had to work hard just to keep up with the snowfall over the holidays,” Adams said. “It has turned out to be one of the best holiday seasons, based on the fantastic winter conditions and the number of visitors.”
