RCMP seek grocery thief

The Sunshine Coast RCMP are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a female suspected of allegedly stealing more than $200 in groceries from Claytons in Sechelt on July 25.

The Sunshine Coast RCMP are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a female suspected of allegedly stealing more than $200 in groceries from Claytons in Sechelt on July 25.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian female, late 30's to 40's, short and heavy-set, wearing a ball cap and loose fitting clothes. The suspect entered the store and proceeded to fill a grocery cart, then left the store, bypassing the checkouts.

Gas line cut

A vehicle was discovered with its gas line cut and screws imbedded in the side of a tire after an apparent siphoning attempt at BC Ferries on July 27.

When BC Ferries staff noticed the vehicle leaking gas while parked at the Langdale terminal, RCMP were called to attend, where they discovered that the suspect('s) had cut the gas line and removed the screws from the gas line. The thieves proceeded to imbed the screws into the tire.

RCMP charge woman with theft

On July 29, Sunshine Coast RCMP located and arrested a 46-year-old Gibsons woman in connection with a theft of cigarettes from Petro Canada and the armed robbery of the Sunshine Lodge Motel that occurred on Sunday, July 24.

RCMP are recommending charges of robbery, disguise with intent, breach of undertaking and theft under $5,000. The woman remains in police custody. Her name has not been released as she has not yet made her first appearance in provincial court to face the charges.
