FLAIR on the Coast this month is Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. They welcome Christine Chandler, BC Lymphedema Association Advocacy. What is lymphedema? How do I know if chronic edema is lymphedema? Who is at risk for developing the disease? How to live a healthy active life with lymphedema. Carole Logtenberg is continuing to lead yoga classes on Mondays and Fridays at the PH Hall this spring. Hatha Yoga begins at 9:15 a.m. and chair yoga begins at 11 a.m. No experience necessary. The Storybook Walk at Tyner Park has been updated with a new book, Up the Creek. The book is a fun, contemporary fable that champions the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and communication, while also promoting the joys to be found in nature. The last few pedestals will include student drawings from Liz Haines,’ Grade 2/3 class from Madeira Park Elementary, depicting their interpretation of the book.
Congratulations, Edda Matzen, winner of the March Rotary Rocks 50/50 draw. Edda won $990. The Legion will receive funds from both February and March for its new emergency generator. The Pender Harbour Wildlife Society is hosting a presentation on April 16 by local naturalist Duane Sept. Duane is a biologist, professional freelance nature photographer and writer. His images have been published in numerous publications and books. South Africa and Namibia are two countries that offer amazing wildlife, landscapes, and incredible experiences in Africa. Namibia offers some of the largest and most impressive sand dunes in the world. Its national parks are some of the best locations to view spectacular wildlife. Join Duane on this African adventure to learn more about this wonderful continent. The presentation will be at the Pender Harbour Secondary School in the food room. Thursday, April 18, Harbourside Friendships drop in gathering will “Explore our past and going forward with future activities.” Come to the Hall at 10:30 a.m. and stay for lunch served at noon for $10.
The Pender Harbour Music Society presents a weekend of family fun and music with Rick Scott and Nico Rhodes. April 20, 2 p.m. is Music and Laughter for All Ages: Family Show One Hour Concert – for those who can’t sit still for more than 60 minutes. Then, April 21, 2 p.m. Roots and Grooves: For Big Folks. Rick and Nico blur all boundaries and share a musical conversation across the generations spiced with mastery, improvisation and humour. Tickets available online at the PHMS website.
The PH Community Club is holding a family friendly AGM on April 21 at the Hall from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The meeting will follow a potluck dinner.

Live Music 2 to 5 p.m., this Sunday April 14, the Quartet will take the stage, $10 at the door. Drop in Crib Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Special events: April 19 COVID Clinic; April 27 the Annual Garage Sale, donations accepted the 24 and 25, no electronic, clothes, or books. All proceeds go to the Generator Fund.
