Tonight, Friday, Sept. 8, the Coffee House at the School of Music has great local performers that include the duo, Rebecca Lorna and Jeremy Helten, Poppa Greg and Sean Peters. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 pm. $10 suggested donation at the door. Desserts, tea and coffee available. 

FLAIR on the Coast will be starting up again on Saturday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. It will be an open forum this month welcoming everyone to share their stories or a one-on-one. FLAIR is completely non-profit. They have a wig library for loans of wigs, plus head scarves, etc. This Cancer Support Group welcomes both men and women receiving cancer treatment, have been through it or a caregiver in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join us. Saturday, Sept. 9 is the long-awaited return of The Precious Littles Reunion at Lions Park, 2 to 7 p.m. with special guest Gerry Millar. Tickets $30 at www.phblues.ca There will be a cash bar and the Aquí Es México food truck will be on site with their delicious tacos. 

Hatha Yoga classes continue Mondays and Fridays at 9:15 a.m. at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. If you’ve never tried yoga before (or it’s been a while), Carole invites you to try her slow-paced Hatha Yoga classes. Stretch, strengthen and relax for an hour. End the class feeling peaceful in mind, body, and spirit. There are modifications so beginners feel comfortable. Grab a friend or two and give yoga a try! First class is free! The 10th Annual Trash Bash is Saturday, Sept. 16. Everyone in our community is invited to help remove trash from our roads and backroads. Meet and sign up at Lion’s Park 10 a.m. Pre-register at letstalk.scrd.ca/trash-bash Volunteers receive a free lunch! 

Sunday, Sept. 17 is the grand opening for the Pender Harbour Aquatic Society and the SCRD 2023-2024 fall season and 40+ anniversary celebration serving the community at the PH Aquatic and Fitness centre, noon to 4 p.m. Come celebrate and enjoy the BBQ! 

The Pender Harbour Wildlife Society is hosting Karen Cummins and Jan Smith on Tuesday, Sept. 19 with a presentation on Gardening with Native Plants. Karen Cummins and Jan Smith are members of the habitat stewardship team with the MARS Wildlife Rescue Centre in Merville, B.C. resistant and bio-diverse ecosystems. The presentation will be at the Pender Harbour High school in the food room. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Presentation at 7 p.m. Refreshments and raffle to follow. All are welcome to attend.
