Another exciting weekend is under way with the first day, today, Friday, June 2, of the three-day musical extravaganza, The Pender Harbour Blues Festival. There is an outstanding line up of performances so check them out at the Pender Harbour Blues Society website. Tomorrow is Blues in the Park noon to 4 p.m. followed by the Dance Party at 8:30 p.m. with Terminal Station. Visit their website for details and ticket purchase.
Saturday is Egmont Day! Come celebrate with the community! Kids Fishing Derby starts the festivities off at 8:30 a.m., parade and BBQ follow at 11 a.m., live music, games, and prizes, cake walk, petting zoo, face painting, dunk tank and bouncy castle. This exciting day is sponsored by the Egmont Community Club.
Local author J. Edward (Ted) Chamberlin has just released a new book Storylines How Words Shape Our World, a rich exploration of the power of stories and songs from the distant past to today. EarthFair will be having a book launch event for him consisting of a reading, Q&A, and book signing. Tomorrow, Saturday, June 3, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the EarthFair Store. Light refreshments will be served.
Harbour Gallery’s Summer 2023 show of all new works is now on at the gallery! They will be open Saturdays in June, and every day in July and August. They gather to paint together on Wednesdays, so if you see them there, come on in!
Thursday, June 8 is “Celebrate Seniors Week.” Rock & Roll with Patricia Burnett, 11 a.m. to noon. Door prizes, activities and free lunch served at noon at the Hall.
