Exciting news from Egmont, the vote was to proceed with the process of acquiring the Pender Harbour Community School building! The building will be donated but funds will be needed for the move and foundation. Get ready for some serious fundraising events and community activities to support this venture!
Looking to help out your community while doing something fun this summer? Volunteer at the visitor centre in Madeira Park! Provide information to happy tourists from all over the world looking for adventures, activities and sights to see in our area. No sales, just lots of chatting with tourists while handing out maps and guides. You will receive training and be able to choose what days and hours work best for you. Dahlia lovers, drop by Jan’s Garden (next to the post office). Dahlias, ready to plant are, two-foot plants $15 each, tubers: $5 each or three for $10. Jan once again will be generously donating all the proceeds to the Pender Harbour Food Bank Society. Thank you, Jan!
Harbourside Friendship is off to the Pender Harbour Golf Club Thursday, June 22 for a little putting around at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at the clubhouse.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch #112 will host its annual golf tournament on Saturday, July 29, starting at 2 p.m. The playing format is a modified Texas Scramble. Entries are $60 per person, which includes golf, appies, dinner and prizes. Everyone will receive a prize! Power cart rentals are not included in the entry fee. Registrations are accepted at the Legion for golf and dinner while power carts must be rented at the golf course. This event is always a sellout so do not hesitate to register.
