The 12th Annual Halloween Howl Dance and Costume Extravaganza happens this Saturday, Oct. 29 at The Hall. The Steve Hinton Band with special guest Peter Van Duersen will have you dancing nonstop. Monday, Oct. 31, the Pender Harbor Garden Club presents local gardening guru Sandy Matches at the School of Music 1 to 3 p.m. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. Sandy has gardened and collected specimen plants since childhood. His botanical experience is mostly self-taught and learned from his grandmother. He also worked for a landscape architect for three years, 1994 through 1997. Sandy will be answering your gardening-related questions as well as discussing seeds and soils if time permits. Membership fees for the garden club are $15 for a calendar year or $5 drop in.

Remembrance Day, Friday, Nov. 11 will begin with a solemn parade from the School of Music to the Madeira Park Legion at 10:40 a.m. Services begin at the Legion at 11 a.m. Refreshments will follow the service.
