Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of April 14!

  • Many thanks to the lady who insisted on accompanying me all the way to my front door, and making sure that someone was home to look after me after I did a serious face-plant while out for a walk.  This was an example of what makes Gibsons such a wonderful place to live.
  • Kisses to Franz at Quality Farms for helping me to get my old Volvo station wagon started. You saved the day!
  • Kisses to Edmund and Terry & Brent who live on Maplewood Lane for their hard work in clearing out the overgrown blackberry bushes and other weeds at the corner of Maplewood Lane and Glassford Road. Now we can see the stop sign again, the walking path is once again usable and children are kept off the road.
  • Mega kisses to stores that participate in receipt donation programs that benefit and support the community. Your efforts are appreciated by all! Thank you!
  • Kisses to the transit worker who saved my purse from the bus stop when I forgot it and placed it on the bus’s dashboard. You saved me so much stress!
  • Kisses to the Gibsons Public Market staff who pulled down a little boy’s golden 5th birthday balloon when it floated way up into the tower, and then saved my purse when I forgot it on my bistro chair. You made both our days!
  • Kicks to the driver of the car at Maxi Lane and Baillie Road who hit a black cat and left it to die. Shame on you for a cruel and heartless act.
  • Your name may be Paul, said you were a vet, I was the frightened old guy who thought his wife was lost in the supermarket. She wasn’t but for 20 minutes Paul was my hero.
  • Loving doggy licks to Lorraine from her beloved Kate (named after her mother). You took such care to ensure your ‘baby‘ was safe in car, whilst you dined. So sweet!
  • Kisses to all the wonderful volunteers and RD staff who made the cross country and snowshoe season at Dakota Ridge so enjoyable. We are so lucky to have this little gem in our backyard.
  • Kisses to James at Park Road Automotive for remedying my oil change problem. Thank you.
