Sunshine Coast residents have another chance to enjoy some winter recreation such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
With a favourable forecast on the horizon, Dakota Ridge recreational area is once again open to the public.
The limited reopening begins on Saturday, March 2 and visitors can find a list of cleared trails online using Nordic Pulse.
As of 11 a.m. March 1, the ridge reports a 15cm snowpack, with heavy snowfall under way.
Environment Canada predicts the Coast will see flurries mixed with showers throughout the weekend that will taper off on Sunday night March 3.
Delayed season
It has been touch-and-go for winter recreation on the Coast this season.
Due to unseasonably warm weather, Dakota Ridge had to delay its opening until Jan. 11.
The weather didn’t cooperate for long however, and the park had to close its gates to the public on Jan. 31 due to lack of snow.
