As a longtime Coaster and Creeker, I support a safer highway.
A stoplight in Roberts Creek will cause dangerous traffic pile-ups in an 80km/h speed zone and through the S-bends at Cliff Gilker when traffic is busy.
I suggest: a 50km/h zone from the S-bend before Cliff Gilker through to Flume Road, high visibility yellow overhead and runway style in pavement crosswalk blinkers at Roberts Creek Road, a red light for the fire department. The 50km/h zone would allow safer cross traffic and merging.
High speed passing on the shoulder needs to be ticketed, especially at Flume Road where there are brutal accidents. Recently I saw a five ton truck giving the airhorn and passing on the right as a car turned left there. Bad form!
