Dear Town of Gibsons, we never needed or should have provided free electricity for electric cars to promote them. This kind of nonsensical giveaway is why there is such a wide disconnect between sensible people and their governments at all levels. Your free car charge station in lower Gibsons is constantly being used and abused by folk that leave their cars long past when they are fully charged. Tesla, at least have the common sense to charge people as much for staying late, as they do to charge the car! The Town of Gibsons, “giving away our tax dollars, to the people in the very least need for free anything!” Charge for the power, and make money doing it please, and furthermore, make it work for everyone by financially punishing those that stay longer than needed…it is that simple! Free power for those that need it least, and are not contributing to road tax? This is an embarrassment and insult to basic common sense.
