In light of the recent fires in LA and the complexity of the evacuation procedures, I would like confirmation and reassurance that the SCRD has a plan for the Sunshine Coast.
I expect the answer will be “it depends” on where the fire is but surely there should be plans for what happens if there is a major fire in location A, B or C.
Is there a plan that includes additional ferries? Is there a plan to put in other evacuation routes? At what point should residents retreat to one of the lakes if they have a boat or is that an option to be considered?
Development continues on the Coast and we are all at risk with dryer summers.
