My mother died last week. At 98 years of age her death was not unexpected, but still hurt.

I want to express my appreciation for the superior care given to her at Shorncliffe. I visited my mom every day so was well aware of her needs.

Her every need was attended to with professionalism, smiles and loving care. Near the end she rarely showed any emotion, but she demonstrated joy at the sound of her caregivers’ voices.

I can only begin to express my gratitude towards the staff at Shorncliffe – everyone from the kitchen staff, the cleaners, the nurses, the care aides, the activity coordinator, the therapist, and the volunteers made Mom’s final years full of heartfelt attention.

I thank each and every one of you for your thoughtfulness.

Just more evidence that we don’t need for-profit health care. Keep Shorncliffe open.
