Fynn puts on the finishing touch.

The Canadian Fencing Federation will be sending seven young women and six young men to Klagenfurt, Austria for the European Cadet (U17) Circuit Tournament at the end of October – and among the athletes is a Sunshine Coast épéeist, Fynn Mansbridge-Fafard.

Fynn will be taking part in both the individual épée as well as the team épée events in Klagenfurt. The team event is comprised of fencers who hold the top four spots in national rankings in Canada.

Fynn will be joined by Nikola Damjanovic of Toronto, Riley Norman of Stettler, Alta., and Seraphim Jarov of Richmond. Riley, Seraphim and Fynn all train with Victor Gantsevich at the Dynamo Fencing Club in Richmond.

Fynn got his start in fencing in Gibsons with coach Jonathan Hutchinson of the Sunshine Coast Fencing Club.

This is the first of two European circuits this year. The second will be in January in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Family and fans will be cheering all of the young Canadian fencers on as they represent their country abroad. Go Team Canada!
