Several homes in ts'ukw'um (Wilson Creek) were evacuated out of "an abundance of caution," in the course of an investigation, according to Sunshine Coast RCMP.
On Dec. 10, the RCMP arrested a man in the 4400 block of Highway 101 during "an ongoing investigation," said a Dec. 11 press release. While searching the home, police became concerned for their safety, evacuated and evacuated several home in the immediate area "out of an abundance of caution."
RCMP are continuing the investigation today – with the help of a specialized unit – and expect residents to be able to return home by the end of the day.
Police say they are not commenting further as it is an active investigation.
