Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for the week of Sept. 6 to 13.
On Sept. 1, a thief stole a fuel transfer pump and a solar panel from a fuel trailer at an address on Whitherby Beach Road. The stolen pump, a GPI make, model 150S, had a seven-metre long rubber hose and nozzle attached.?
On Sept. 6, two shoplifters were caught by staff at a business in the 5500 block of Highway 101. The suspects had gone through the checkout and paid for a small item, and left the business with a large number of unpaid for items that had been placed in the bottom of a baby stroller. The two suspects were detained and more stolen items was found hidden on one of the suspects. Both suspects were arrested for theft. The file is still under investigation.??
On Sept. 3, a thief broke in to a storage building in the 400 block of Harbour Road and stole a forest green Suzuki King quad ATV, Model LTF3.??
On Sept. 8, police attended a break and enter at a business in the 5500 area of Wharf Road. The thief pried a rear door to gain entry and stole a number of open bottles of alcohol. The male suspect, who was caught on surveillance video, was wearing a white hooded jacket, dark shirt and a light-coloured baseball cap. ??
On Sept. 8, a Coast resident reported finding a musical instrument that had been floating in the water. The instrument suffered minimal water damage and may be claimed from the RCMP with a detailed description. Reference file 11-6458.??
Overnight on Sept. 3, thieves stole a number of items from a property in Port Mellon, including several 45-gallon drums, an aluminum-handled axe and an ATV. Police are reviewing surveillance footage.??
On Sept. 9, a thief broke in to a residence in the 200 block of Cochrane Road and stole a three-drawer dark wood jewellery box that contained costume jewellery as well as a high school ring with the initials CHS, a women's amethyst ring, a woman's Pulsar watch, a woman's locket and children's baby teeth.??
A card containing a gift card was found near the 1100 block of Highway 101. Owner may claim with detailed description of both, reference file 11-6585.
