At the May 30, 2023 celebration for RCM SAR 14's new boathouse: Jeremy Maerkl of RCM SAR 14, Erin Heeney of RCM SAR HQ (and until recently of RCM SAR 12), RCMP Staff Sgt. Jennifer Prunty, Karen Buckley RCM SAR 14, RCMP Cpl. Philip Atoui, and Peter Amat and Alex Bollhorn of Pacific Basin.

Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue Station 14 (Gibsons) held a grand opening for their new boathouse at the Gibsons Landing Harbour Authority Wharf on May 30.

The need for such a facility became apparent in 2016, when the station received their new recue vessel, and realized it would not fit their existing boathouse. After community fundraising, the new boathouse was ordered in September 2021, floated in February 2022, arrived in March and finally found its permanent location in November.

The celebratory evening in May welcomed guests to tour the exciting new facility.
