Outdoor surfaces received a thorough rinse with daytime and overnight rains on June 26.

Rain accumulations in the range of 6.6 millimetres fell on the Sunshine Coast, in the Sechelt area on June 26, according to Environment Canada. Weatherhood predicts an additional 9 mm will arrive in the coming days.

While the forecast is for damp conditions on Thursday and Friday, daytime high temperatures are slated to start climbing from the mid-teens toward 21 degrees by Saturday.  Off and on rains are forecast to be more “off” by Saturday.

Coast areas on SCRD water supplies remain at Stage 1 watering restrictions as of June 26. With the rains received, gardens and outdoor plants do not appear to be suffering adverse impacts from tighter controls on outdoor use of regionally supplied water so far this summer.
