The Sunshine Coast Conservation Association welcomes Alexandra Morton to the Roberts Creek Hall on Tuesday, May 24, at 7 p.m.

Morton is an inspired speaker, a courageous activist and an award-winning author. She is also a scientist and whale researcher who is spearheading the fight to preserve wild salmon.

May Day for the Wild Salmon was launched on April 13 in Campbell River. By the time she reaches the Sunshine Coast, Morton will have migrated up and down the Fraser River Valley visiting (at last count) 38 different communities, including a visit to the Cohen Inquiry in Vancouver and an overnight vigil on May Day outside the B.C. legislature in Victoria.

Her talk, Calling The Wild Salmon People, focuses on the need to save wild salmon from the Norwegian-owned salmon feedlots. She has witnessed first hand the impact of the Norwegian salmon farms on fish and whales at her home in the Broughton Archipelago. Morton has collaborated with scientists across North American and Europe and has taken her fight to every level of government.

Please join us for this important fundraising event. Don't miss the opportunity to speak with Morton during a question and answer period following her presentation.

Tickets are $20 or $12 for Sunshine Coast Conservation Association members. Net proceeds from this event will help further Morton's efforts to save wild salmon.
