BC Transit and the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) are advising transit customers of a seasonal service change, effective Oct. 15, 2024.
According to BC Transit and the SCRD, these changes are to “better meet the needs of our customers and provide more travel options.”
The following routes will be impacted by these changes:
- Route 2 West Sechelt: Two additional trips on weekdays, with a reduction of one trip on Saturday.
- Route 3 Sechelt Arena: One additional trip on Saturdays and one additional trip on Sundays.
- Route 4 Halfmoon Bay: One additional trip on Sundays.
- Route 90 Sechelt-Gibsons/Langdale Ferry Express: One additional trip on weekdays and one additional trip on Sundays.
Starting Nov. 1, young people 18 years old and younger will be able to ride transit for free with the S-Pass — kids 12 and under can already travel free. One of the ways to confirm eligibility for the S-Pass will be with a valid student I.D. More details on how to register are available at scrd.ca/s-pass.
