Another rash of unlocked vehicles ransacked by thieves has prompted Sunshine Coast RCMP to issue another warning to the public.

According to Cpl. Steve Chubey, three unlocked vehicles were entered while parked overnight at homes located along Shaw Road, Eaglecrest Drive and Wildwood Crescent in Gibsons on March 11.

"Thieves are targeting unlocked vehicles and will go after things like loose change, mail, sports equipment, cell phones and banking information," said Chubey. "By removing these items from your vehicles and simply locking your doors, we can greatly reduce the amount of theft from vehicles on the Coast."RCMP are urging the public to ensure their vehicles are locked, whether your vehicle is at the mall or at home and that all personal; items of value are removed from the vehicle.

Anyone with information or who may have seen anyone suspicious in the areas described above at the time of the thefts, is asked to contact RCMP at 604-885-2266 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
