RCMP station gibsons

On Sept. 24, Sunshine Coast RCMP received a report that a male had exposed himself to two females outside of Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons.

The incident occurred between approximately 3 and 3:20 pm on Tuesday, last week, outside of 900 Gibsons Way. The females were walking to their vehicle and the male was walking behind them.

The females were walking from the RBC Bank eastbound towards Elphinstone Secondary and then north down the alley between the mall and the school when the incident occurred.

The man is described as Caucasian, 30 to 40 years old, with dark brown or black hair, wearing grey sweat pants and sweat shirt.

If anyone who witnessed this incident and has dashcam footage or anyone with a vehicle equipped with video recording capability and were parked facing either the RBC or any of the other businesses toward the east end of the mall, are asked to contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.

The RCMP believe this incident is connected with a similar one, which occurred in July. On Tuesday, July 23, at approximately 6 p.m., two 12-year-old girls were walking on the trail to the west of Shaw Road at O'Shea Road in Gibsons, which enters the woods near Christenson Village. The girls observed a male who pulled down his pants and exposed himself to them.

That man was also described as being in his 40s, Caucasian, very slim build, tanned skin, short brown hair, wearing sunglasses and a grey tracksuit. The girls left the area immediately.

RCMP ask if there are any other victims who have not yet reported their experience, to please contact police at 604-885-2266.
