The Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking information after a woman was found dead in Sechelt Inlet at 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 18.
The 59-year-old woman is from Sechelt, the police said in a July 20 press release. She was visiting a friend on a sailboat on July 17, and left at approximately 1 a.m. About seven hours later, she was found in the water near the government wharf at Anchor Road and Wharf Avenue.
Police are asking the public for video surveillance from the area west of the Lighthouse Pub parking lot, or for anyone who saw a woman in that area early on Sunday morning to contact them at 604-885-2266.
Police describe the woman as thin and say she “wore her grey hair in a ponytail and was wearing blue jeans, black runners, a dark jacket and may have been carrying a black and red Roots backpack.”
