Sunshine Coast RCMP are seeking the public's assistance after thieves made off with three inflatable boats from a display at Trail Bay Mall in Sechelt.

According to police, sometime between 9:50 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, two unidentified males went into the mall and stole the boats from the Riptide Inflatable's display (next to Telus Mobility). The males gained entry to the display by forcing open the security gate. Video surveillance was obtained by police of the two males entering the mall and carrying out the three boats, but as of Tuesday morning, no arrests had been made.

The first suspect is Caucasian, 6" tall, 190 pounds with brown hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a light blue smock with dark blue trim on the pockets and collar with the nametag of "Bruce." He was also wearing a black hat, black gloves, dark blue pants and black boots.

The second suspect was also Caucasian, 5'10" tall, 200 pounds with dark brown hair, brown moustache and goatee. He was wearing a black Oakley hat, light blue smock with dark blue trim on the pockets and collar with an unknown nametag, black gloves, gray pants and black boots.

The three boats were gray Liberty inflatables, ranging in size from 7'6" to 9'10" in length. All three boats were equipped with oars. The three boats were carried from the mall and loaded into a waiting U-Haul cube van, that soon departed the area.

Anyone with information that can aid police in their investigation are asked to call 604-885-2266 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
