The sounding of many horns welcomed Gibsons Yacht Club commodore Kate McQuaid on her return into the marina.
On May 14, around 20 boats joined the annual tradition that marks the official start of the club’s sailing season (and ensures vessels are seaworthy). Colourful code flags adorned the vessels as they motored past and gave salute to the commodore.
Best dressed went to Sula, Allons’y — the club’s newly acquired third club boat — and Endless Rode. Autumn Spirit received an honourable mention from McQuaid for hoisting their main sail.
