The Sunshine Coast RCMP is asking for the public's assistance relating to an indecent act that occurred near a trailhead off Shaw Road in Gibsons.
On Tuesday, July 23, at approximately 6 p.m., two 12-year-old girls were walking on the trail to the west of Shaw Road at O'Shea Road, which enters the woods near Christenson Village. The girls observed a male who pulled down his pants and exposed himself to them.
The man was described as being in his 40s, Caucasian, very slim build, tanned skin, short brown hair, wearing sunglasses and a grey tracksuit. The girls left the area immediately.
Witnesses wanted
There may have been an unrelated man walking his dog into the trail as the girls exited, who might have seen the suspicious man in the area.
If anyone observed anything suspicious or has home security cameras or dash cam footage, which could have captured anyone walking in that area at around that same time, they are asked to contact the RCMP at 604-885-2266.
