Email your letters to Santa to Coast Reporter by Dec. 17.

While Santa might not weigh in on zoning applications or bylaw amendments in Coast Reporter’s letters to the editor, we have it on good authority he’s a regular reader of the paper’s Kisses and Kicks column.

It’s the Sunshine Coast’s very own version of his “naughty or nice” list, so all you tailgating drivers had better mind your manners. And, we hope that all of you who have shown such kindness to others over the years, have a very happy holiday.

Letters to Santa have been a tradition from time immemorial, but since no one is receiving any mail for now, and knowing Saint Nick is an avid reader of Coast Reporter, the team here thought it just makes sense to publish letters from children on the Coast for him to read.

We know while some kids may have the opportunity to visit with Santa at one of many local events taking place, there’s nothing like an old-fashioned letter to really catch his attention — even if it is sent via email.

And while each submission won’t receive an individual response, we have it on good authority that Santa will be writing his first letter to the editor, thanking the children for taking the time to write and wishing them all a very Merry Christmas.

The team at Coast Reporter also wants to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and offer a sincere thank you to every one one of our readers, advertisers and letter writers.

You can email your letter to Santa (up to 100 words) to [email protected] with the subject line "Letter to Santa." Include the child's first name and age. We will publish letters to Santa the week before Christmas. The deadline for the letters is Tuesday, Dec. 17, but please send your submission as soon as possible to ensure it’s included.
