Sunshine Coast RCMP say a 47-year-old man died at Ruby Lake June 30 after suffering some sort of medical distress while out kayaking.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m. near one of the small islands in the lake close to the Ruby Lake Resort.
Bystanders were able to get the man to shore at one of the islands and performed CPR while awaiting the arrival of emergency crews, but he could not be revived.
The case is now in the hands of the BC Coroners Service.
