The Sunshine Coast Toastmasters International Speech and Evaluation Contests will be held Tuesday, April 25, 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre, 5714 Medusa St. in Sechelt.

This free event is open to the public and promises to be an entertaining evening. Eight contestants from three clubs have honed their speaking and evaluation skills in an environment of support and camaraderie, and only two from each contest may move on to compete at the division level in North Vancouver.

International Speech Contest winners have the opportunity to go as far as the World Championship of Public Speaking. The World Championship Contest is held annually during the Toastmasters International convention. This year’s convention will be held in August on home turf in Vancouver and expects to draw at least 3,000 members from around the world.
