The Shorncliffe Adult Day Program returned last fall. For Valentine’s Day, the program had a special luncheon.

On Saturday, Feb. 11, Shorncliffe Adult Day Program (ADP) opened its doors to a first of its kind Saturday afternoon lunch and Valentine’s Day program for members and a guest.

On the agenda: getting to know you, a Valentine’s Day Jingo Game and a popular sing-a-long with our favourite love songs throughout the ages.

Shorncliffe ADP reopened its doors in August of last year after a two-year hiatus. On Aug. 2 our cozy space (just inside Shorncliffe Care Home) re-opened to our first members. Programs are carefully designed with members’ goals and interests in mind and include: Fun N’ Fit, Active Games, Bit O’ Banter (discussion of topics of interest), Crafting, Table Games, Word Games, Baking, Sing-a-long, Gardening, Holiday and Cultural Celebrations, Java Music Club and DrumFIT. Our program accommodates eight to 10 members per day.

We are expanding our program to meet the needs of new members who come to us through referral from their doctor, neighbours, friends, community case managers or on their own.  They can reach us directly by calling Shorncliffe ADP at 604-885-5126 loc. 226 or, Home Care Services at 604-741-0726. A visit to ADP is then recommended and a referral by a case manager from Home and Community Care is required to join the program.

Shorncliffe ADP promotes a family-like environment that encourages everyone to feel welcomed, respected and valued.

Come see what we are all about or share this program opportunity with family, friends or neighbours.

For a tour or visit of our ADP please contact recreation therapist and ADP coordinator Donna at 604-885-5126 loc. 226.
