the 2025 Sunshine Coast Lions Polar Plunge is in Trail Bay.

Are you looking to kickstart 2025 with a bang, a personal challenge, or a cleansing of your New Year’s Eve hangover? If your answer is yes, do we have the event for you.

The Sunshine Coast Lions Club, with valuable assistance from the Halfmoon Bay RCMSAR, invites you to join in on Jan. 1, 2025 for our 29th Annual Polar Bear Swim.  This free community event will take place at noon on New Year’s Day, Trail Bay Pier and we would love to see record attendance for this beloved ritual.  Even if you can’t imagine doing the plunge, please join us on the pier to cheer on those intrepid enough to take up the challenge.

Things you need to know before you go:

There’s a new venue location, Friendship Park, Sechelt. Limited parking available, but easy street parking in the area. Registration will start at 11 a.m.

We recommend shoes you can wear into the water as shoreline is rocky, warm clothes for after your plunge, and a thermos of something hot to drink upon exiting the waters.  Weird and wacky costumes are also encouraged.

This is a fun, family-oriented celebration of 2025 and we encourage participation from all ages.  Please be respectful of all our volunteers as they provide crowd control for everyone’s safety.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.  This is a free event, but donations are always welcome.
