More than 100 Langdale Elementary School and Elphinstone Secondary students participated in a Walk for Water event, organized by We Charity, which is supported by Me to We business. Students walked from their elementary school to the ocean to fill their containers. “The trek back is all up hill, and with full containers of water, the students had an increased empathy for those who can’t go to school because they walk for hours to water every day,” said Grade 6/7 teacher Jane Ostashek. The goal is to raise $1,000. “This will [provide] a community of 40 people in Africa with clean water for life!” Ostashek said.
