Spotlight on Patagonia and Antarctica

Pender Harbour Wildlife Society
patagonia
Gentoo penguins are found on subantarctic islands.

Ever wondered about Patagonia’s rugged coastline and Antarctica’s timeless mystique?

On March 27, one week later than usual, the Pender Harbour Wildlife Society presents Alexis Harrington’s Patagonia and Antarctica, beside Pender Harbour Secondary School at Christ the Redeemer Church (13625 Sunshine Coast Hwy.).

Harrington will take the audience on a voyage to the end of the world, focusing on Patagonia’s small villages and changing landscape before moving to the frozen continent’s vast expanses, research stations, seals, whales and, of course, penguins. She will discuss her trip from Santiago, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and she will outline her experiences with the extreme landscapes and animal life through her love of photography. Prepare for penguin pictures as these little charmers vied for the camera.

This presentation is free to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., starts 7 p.m. Raffle prizes. Refreshments will be served. For more information, see www.penderharbourwildlife.com or email [email protected].
